We are searching for a dynamic, inspirational Broadway show tune or another type of song that would be great to perform at a pageant. "Defying Gravity" is not an option but is a great example of what we are looking for.
Does anybody know of a great Broadway tune for a pageant performance?
hmmm... So you want something contemporary with a pop sound, Look at the Elton John show Aida there are some pretty songs in that show that are recognizable but aren't the overdone like Les Mis, Phantom, Wicked, Cats, there is a really lovely song in the Scarlet Pimpernel "When I Look At You"...

You should do "You can't Stop the Beat". It has a great beat. It comes from "Hairspray". It's won a couple of awards. Hope this helps.
"Change in Me" from the Broadway version of Beauty and the Beast has the same theme as "Defying Gravity" and a friend of mine sang it for one of her pageants and ended up winning.
